There is still a lot to do
In August there is not much to do in the garden anymore. But you still have to do some things. We have put together a few tasks for you to do in August. Here are our 8 tips:
- Withered flowers should be cut off regularly so that the flowering shrubs bloom for a long time. Most perennials are thus always new flowers.
- Hedges should be cut now. But do not do that in the heat of the midday heat.
- Also for lavender it is time for a light pruning. The shoots are shortened by about 1/3. The big pruning takes place only in the spring.
- If you have big perennials in the bed, then the best time to share them is now. Dig them and divide them with a spade.
- If your peonies have grown too big, you can transplant them now. The plant should always divide the plants.
- Now is planting time for steppe candles, lilies and evergreen trees. You should not forget to water the plants well.
- Do you have box trees in the garden and do you want to shape them? Then August is the best month for it.
- Water a lot this month when the month of August is very dry. The plants will thank you with lush flowers.
